It is classically stated that prostitution is the world’s oldest profession. There is a lot of truth to this, but naturally what comes to mind for the most oldest occupations is farming or growing crops and hunting for food. Prostitution is not simply limited to the act of sex as an exchange for payment, but when you hire out your soul for physical gain and neglect to serve the world for the purpose for which you were created.
You Might Be Or Have Been a Prostitute
We all, may have indeed, been a prostitute at least one time in our lives. Have you ever taken you gifts, abilities, talents and ideas to serve someone else’s vision and system of greed? Have you neglected who you really are in order to serve a particular employer or client, putting on a facade of something you are not?
That is spiritual prostitution.
Man was created to dominate the Earth realm and to provide value to everything on the Earth (Gen. 1:26). Instead, under the system of prostitution, we are programmed to default to the thought that things add value to us and not that we ourselves add value to things. We are taught to believe that we have to serve things versus have things that serve us. We are conditioned to believe that we are to “paper chase” in order to prosper; to allow ourselves to serve and work for money, instead of letting money serve our purposes and work for our use.
This is one paradigm of thought that Christ lived out and demonstrated throughout His ministry. He showed us numerous times that nothing is more important under the sun than completing the will of the Father, the work of the Kingdom, and ackowledging that we have the power over Earth’s atmosphere. He worked hard trying to get us to understand that we don’t have to be victims.
There is nothing wrong with prospering and having a legitimate profession in which you earn money. The point is that “whatever your hands find right to do, do it with all your might.” Your work should align with your purpose, the reason why you were created. Your work should resonate with who you are and your core values. Make sure your heart is in it, and that it will have longlasting purpose; because where we are all going, there is no work, thought, or knowledge there (Eccl 9:10).
“Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, But those who were hungry cease to hunger…” – 1 Samuel 2:5
Purposeful living in Christ, includes your work. Faithful living is the only way to satiate hunger, emptiness and void.
Another reason why spiritual prostitution is dangerous is because we actively demonstrate that we do not believe in the Word of God:
- That we were created for dominating the Earth realm
- That we are the only legal being given that right. Genesis states that only human beings, only man– was created with the authority over the Earth.
This is why prayer is so important. God simply will not “fix our problems” (world hunger, poverty, war, etc.) and make it all go away. God will not override what he said in Genesis. He gave human beings the jurisdiction to rule the Earth. We are the only legal manipulators of the Eearth realm.
If anything is to be done under the sun, it must be done through a human being. In order for any spirit, including God himself, to influence the Earth realm in a legal manner, work must operate through a body.
Satan learned this after he was cast onto the Earth when he refused to obey God after He created us. He had to access a serpents body in order to influence the human beings in the garden. This was an illegal act and only Satan operates illegally. But once the fall occurred, he accomplished a major goal- he obtained the authority that Man was given first, through Adam and Eve’s disobiedence.
Jesus came and restored that authority, but the enemy does not want you to know this.
Prostitution was birthed the moment a credit and debit system was created. Once transgression was created, and payment or sacrifice had to be made to atone for something (an exchange), prostitution was introduced. The fall of Man was the beginning of this faulty system.
Negotiating with Human Beings
Every act that God did on the Earth was conducted through a human being. This characteristic should demonstrate the power you have right there, embedded through Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
In order for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorroah, negotiations and travel arrangements had to be made with Lot before the act could take place. At first glance, to those who may not understand the Garden of Eden, you may say, “why would God have to negotiate with a human to do what He wanted to do? Isn’t God Omnipotent, Supreme and Soverign?” Yes, but He is commited to His word in which He established Himself (Gen 1:26). He gave humans the legal jurisdiction of the Earthly atmosphere and He will only operate through the prayers of the righteous according to His will and purposes:
He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken. Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar. – Genesis 19:21-22
In order to restart creation He worked through Noah. Noah waited and prayed for over 100 years for the flood.
In order to grow a blessed tribe and deliver Israel out of bondage he worked through Moses.
In order to keep Israel safe from outside tribes and conquer them through battle He worked through Saul first, then David.
In order to save a people from racial extermnation He worked through Esther.
In order to have His son come into the world as flesh, He worked through Mary.
In order to redem and restore humanity back to their place of authority on the Earth and establish His kingdom on the new Earth, He had to come in the flesh- working through Christ.
Nothing has changed.
He still is waiting for you and I to give Him access to our heart, soul, spirit, time and mind. He is waiting for bodies to renew their minds and pray in the spirit according to His will and purposes. God is just, legal and true to His laws, and is not willing to violate what He established. Once we fully resign from the bondage of prostitution, we can fully surrender and execute the complete will He created us to execute.
Instead of wondering why God won’t fix suffering, poverty, hunger, war, terrorism, abuse, natural disasters and other tragedies- we need to realize that He is willing and waiting on us to permit Him access to do that work (this is what the kingdom is all about!) We should concentrate on killing service of the body and fleshy desires, and operate with authority daily.
“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matt. 6:33
“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!..” Matt 6:29-30
